AIMS, OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES
By the end of the course the participants should be able to understand:
The rational behind non surgical retreatment approaches and the aetiology of initial root canal treatment failure
Technique of the removal of gutta-percha and carrier based obturation
How to dislodge different types of post
Ledges management
Technique to remove or bypassing separated instruments
Effective disinfection using new and innovative instrumentation
Problem solving using Bioceramic material
Have learnt how to use better an operating microscope
DAY 1
Covers the aetiology, diagnosis and management of failed endodontic treatments, how and when to treat or refer. The remainder of day will be occupied by practical exercises using ultrasonic tips. Disassembly of obturation materials: gutta percha, carrier based obturation, screw post, fiber post and metal post on extracted teeth.
DAY 2
Will begin with a seminar on evidence based irrigation protocol during Retreatment and the management of canal obstructions: ledges, separated instrument, removal or bypassing. Further hands-on exercises: treatment of
